What is inflammation
Whenever something enters your body that doesn't belong there your immune system gets active and produces white blood cells to fight the invaders. This causes inflammation.
This happens if you scrape your knee or smoke cigarettes. Or if you have an excessive amount of body fat, mostly around your belly. If you have plaque inside your arteries the white blood cells will wall it off. The clots may get loose and flow around in your blood stream. That is the most common reason for heart attacks or strokes.
